Situated 3 miles South East of Windsor and close to Datchet, Old Windsor has a rich history of its own having been the site of a Palace for Saxon Kings before the existence of Windsor Castle. The River Thames prominently runs along the banks of the village with the back drop of Windsor Great Park and nearby Runnymede offering several hectares of open parkland for the public.
This pretty village offers a fabulous selection of homes of different styles and sizes with some riverside properties.
The M25 is conveniently located at the other side of Runnymede which links to both the M4 and M3 Motorways, and is in close proximity to London Heathrow Airport.
The local schools King's Court First School and St Peter's C of E Middle School are well regarded and secondary education is available close by in Windsor.
Life in Old Windsor
There are three separate parades of local shops with a selection of public houses and popular local restaurants and cafes. There is a very close community here which even has its own popular Facebook Page connecting all the residents together, and hosts a village business directory. There are local sports clubs including football and netball teams, an established amateur dramatics society (Riverside Players) and a scouts, guides and brownies hall. There is also a well attended social club and an annual Donkey Derby and Carnival.
