Why use a regulated agent?

Something that is often overlooked when a Landlord chooses a Letting Agent is the fact that not all Letting Agents are regulated, so it’s important to consider whether or not your Letting Agent is keeping you safe and ensuring that their work and actions are keeping you in compliance with the law.
At Hamilton Chess we’re members of both the NAEA and ARLA. Whilst membership isn’t mandatory, we think it’s important for you as a Landlord to have peace of mind knowing we’re on top of property law, any changes in regulation and that we’re working to a strict code of practice.
Speaking of changes in regulation, did you know that only recently there’s been changes to HMRC allowances for wear and tear, rent repayment orders, right to rent immigration checks, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and Section 21 checks, just to name a few?
